Pricing and quotes
What does a call out cost?
Nothing. The call out and assessment are free, and you receive a fixed written price before any work begins, so you only ever pay for work you have approved.
Do you charge extra for nights or weekends?
No. Nights, weekends and public holidays are priced exactly the same way as a weekday job, because overtime rates simply do not exist here.
How does payment work?
The fixed price is confirmed in writing before work starts, and we accept card, cash and payment plans, so there are no invoices that grow after the fact.

Availability and emergencies
How fast can you get to a plumbing emergency?
Real people answer the phone day and night, and the van reaching you has usually just left a job nearby. We give you an honest arrival window when you call rather than a vague promise. If water is going where it should not right now, our emergency plumbing team is the fastest route.
What should I do while I wait for a plumber?
Turn off the water at the meter for a burst, isolate the gas at the meter if you can smell it, and switch off power to a leaking hot water unit at the meter box. Our pages on toilets overflowing, no hot water and gas leaks walk through the make-safe steps in detail.

Services and licensing
What plumbing services do you cover?
Everything from burst pipes, blocked drains and gas leaks through to hot water systems, bathroom and kitchen plumbing, CCTV drain inspections and pipe relining. The four service hubs on this site list every job we handle, and each links through to its own page.
Are your plumbers licensed?
Every plumber on the team is fully licensed and insured under licence #275278C, and compliance certificates arrive with the invoice on every job that needs one.
Do you deal with Sydney Water?
Yes. Where a job touches the water network, such as backflow testing or meter work, we manage the notices and compliance lodgements with Sydney Water for you.

Plumbing in an old suburb
Why do drains in the older streets block so often?
The suburb's original sewers are century-old vitrified clay with displaced joints, and the mature brush box and fig street trees push roots straight into those joints. A drain that blocks repeatedly usually needs a camera look, not another blind clear, which is where our drainage team starts.
Can you work on Federation-era pipework?
Yes. Much of the housing stock dates from before 1940, and we routinely renew corroded galvanised supply lines, repair clay drainage and match new fittings to older bathrooms. If you are weighing repair against renewal, our general plumbing hub is the place to start.
What about the post-war unit blocks near the station?
We work them constantly. Those flats run ageing shared storage hot water systems and flexi hoses that fail suddenly, and we treat any shared-supply fault with the whole run in mind, not just the connection in front of us. See our hot water hub for how we approach shared laundries.

Coverage and warranty
Which nearby suburbs do you service?
Alongside Carlton we cover Allawah, Beverley Park, Kogarah Bay, Kogarah and South Hurstville, each with its own page on this site, so the advice you read matches the streets you live on.
Is your work guaranteed?
Every job is covered by our Lifetime Labour Warranty. If something we have done is not right, we come back and make it right at no cost to you.
Still have a question?
Call (02) 9072 0520 and ask a licensed plumber directly, day or night. You can also learn more about the team on our about page or send a non-urgent question through the contact page and we will get back to you fast.
Straight answers before you call
Most people ring a plumber with two questions before they ask about the fault: what will this cost, and how quickly can someone be here. This page answers both plainly, along with the questions we hear most from Carlton homeowners. If your question is not here, the fastest answer is a phone call on (02) 9072 0520.
